Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD)

The Diagnostic Imaging Department is pleased to offer Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) services to our clients close to home in a state of the art, warm and welcoming environment.

What is a BMD test?

A Bone Mineral Density test is a low dose x-ray that is used to assist Physicians in determining their patient’s risk of osteoporosis. From these results, the Physician is then able to create a treatment plan, incorporating regular weight—bearing exercise, calcium (diet and supplements) vitamin D and fall prevention strategies.

How can I book an appointment for a BMD?

Patients require referral from their physician and appointments are booked through the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Please call 613-354-3301 and dial extension 263 for more information.
