Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Staff are dedicated to delivering the best possible care to you while in our hospital. In our role as caregivers, we will strive to meet and exceed your expectations by always improving our patient services. We are accountable to you and the public through our Board of Directors.
 

ER Wait Times

 
Our goal is to see every patient as soon as possible.
 
Patients are seen in order of urgency, based on their condition and triage assessment.
 
Several factors affect wait times:
  • The need of a critically ill patient who requires the care of several staff members
  • The number of patients waiting
  • The age of a patient - children's conditions can deteriorate quickly
  • The assessment of ambulance patients, who, like walk-in patients, are assessed by the triage nurse.

Patient and Family Advisory Council

 

The L&A Hospital is committed to putting patients and their families first and that means viewing the healthcare experience through their eyes.
 
Our patients and Family Advisory Council was established in 2015 and represents the voice of our patients and families.
 
The unique experience, insights and perspectives of these individuals who volunteer their time, are valuable to improve care.  The council participates as a partner with the hospital to ensure that the needs and priorities for patient and family centered care are considered and incorporated into matters that impact patients and their families.
 
The committee members rotate every two years to broaden perspective and input.  Members are selected in a way that brings diverse elements of the community to the group.
 
What do Patient and Family Advisors do?
  • Review and provide feedback on items referred to the council.
  • Participate as partners in the planning of new programs.
  • Partner on committees, task forces, working groups as required.
  • Advise and share information on patient and family centered care practices.
  • Provide opportunities for Health Care Providers to listen to their patients and residents.
  • Provide direct input into policies, programs and practices which affect the patient experience.
  • Reviews patient feedback and advocates on behalf of the patient.
